Before starting an electrical installation, electricians must ensure that the work environment is voltage-free. A voltage tester is required to test alternating electrical fields or to locate suspected sources of error. A first indication of whether there is no voltage is possible with the non-contact Wiha voltage tester thanks to an optical and acoustic signal. After switching on, the permanently green LED indicates that it is operational. During the voltage test, the LEDs light up from blue (weak) to orange to red (strong), depending on the strength of the alternating electrical field. Two AAA batteries, which are included in the scope of delivery, are required for use. If the device is not used for 4 minutes, it switches off automatically to save energy. An integrated LED flashlight enables the measuring point to be illuminated in a dark environment and can be used as a flashlight by manually switching it on and off.
